Be Local Everywhere

If you are yearning for a familiar voice, but you travel a lot or just too busy to slow down, take five minutes and catch up with Garrison Keillor and The Writer's Almanac. This is a weekday podcast that only lasts about five minutes and shares a poem and this day in literary history. I know that this isn't specifically local, but it is something that you can do everyday for five minutes that will be almost as good for you as yoga. Check it out here:

Rock the English

Hello World!

This will be your place for exciting English thoughts and news that will happen outside of a classroom and right here in our own twin cities.  There will be multiple musing about different events that are fun and might have some academic implications.

The first that I want to right about is Rock the Garden, which is happening at the Walker Arts Center on this Saturday.  The band The Decemberists will be headlining.  They just release an album entitled The Hazards of Love which is a rock opera that strays their previous work.  If you like your rock with a little art this will be perfect for you.
